This book instantly became one of my favorites.
I have a problem with these kind of books that they sometimes tend to be offensive and too much, but this one was cute and so accurate at the same time.
LOVE IT ❤️

This book could possibly be the memoir of my life. I’ve never felt so SEEN before as an introvert. I found myself laughing at things I thought only I’ve experienced! For all the introverts out there it’s a must read. For all extroverts, this is a great guide for helping understand your less social loved one in your life.

It was so great to be able to relate to her experiences and be affirmed that I’m not crazy or weird.

So I'm an introvert I guess? I feel like most of the bookish community is. I'm also privileged; during this whole lock-down period I did not mind staying at home; in fact I liked most of it. I'm also a student and don't want universities to physically open. Most of this also comes from the fact that unlike so many people my family didn't suffer that much from this period. Sure because of not all work being opened especially in the first few months we had to put some restrictions in our family too; like not buying anything that was not necessary; but also unlike so many people we weren't worried about food, shelter or rent etc. This is not me bragging that I don't have to worry about rent; this is me trying to explain that in my opinion introverts who get to be introverted are privileged. There's probably nothing wrong in that except for the fact that the conversation surrounding introverts usually excludes people that feel introverted that have to be with people. For e.g if you have desk job etc it is easier to avoid people and also in this time to be able to work from home; on the other hand a labourer or a waiter or shopkeeper etc can literally not do this; these people also relatively lost more jobs during this pandemic. (PLEASE PLEASE RUSSIAN VACCINE OR ANY OTHER WORKS PLEASE).

Also in my humble opinion I do not think an accurate way to assess or quantify personality types is possible to exist (at least not now). There are probably way more aspects of personality definitely more than just 4. I also do not think introvert is a personality; I think it's more of a feeling; I feel like this a lot of the time.

Scientifically as well Myers Briggs tests are just not accurate. Sure their interesting and fun to do and you can put your personality type on the your Instagram bio and feel a little aesthetic. But besides that it doesn't really have any value and definitely should not be used to group people psychologically or in any other way or any other personality tests for that matter (unless it's for fun's sake or fictional). Grouping personalities can obviously be fun; like into pessimists, optimists, realists or their faction (divergent), or court (acotar) and etc.
Myers Briggs uses 4 pairs of binary characteristics. With the help of these they put you into one of 16 (4^2) personality types. The problem is that most things including the are not really binary; there's a lot of grey area. No matter which of these you end up falling into you'll also get an extremely flattering view of yourself (which obviously is the fun part and the thing we all love) but bad qualities and habits to exist (obviously not cause of any of the 4 pair alternatives) but a personality test essentially ignores them.
Think about when you first read Harry Potter or watched the movies (this is no way is me endorsing it's writer..it's just me giving an example that most people will understand..and also cause I don't know that many books..). Students at Hogwarts were grouped into 4 houses; one of which- slytherin was mostly portrayed as bad; griffyndor was mostly good; rawenclaw and hufflepuff were essentially just background; one background nerds the other background losers. And then eventually in the books ahead it became much grey (because grouping 11year kids into a group with villains was probably weird); slytherins could also be good (horace slughorn); gryffindors could be evil (peter petigrew); ravenclaws are more than just nerds (luna lovegood); and hufflepuffs could also be brave (cedric diggory). And this all happened because people essentially cannot really be accurately grouped.
Coming back to my point (really took a big turn there didn't I?). A huge scientific inaccuracy behind the Myers Briggs is how it has no reproducible value. For a research to be accurate every time it's done you should get the same (or similar) result e.g smoking is said to lead to lung cancer; because again and again patients of lung cancer had history of smoking and some already smokers went to develop it in the future. You fall into one of the 16 personality types and then do it after some time when you're feeling different there is a high chance of you getting another one this time. We act different while doing different activities; with different friend groups and that is not cause we're hypocritical or have multiple personalities but just that personalities are in fact multi faceted.
Carl Jung who created this; himself said the "personality types" were just rough tendencies he'd observed, rather than strict classifications. He also wrote"Every individual is an exception to the rule"; you see what I mean.
Also according to several analyses it has no predictable value; they have shown the test is totally ineffective at predicting people's success in various jobs, and that about half of the people who take it twice get different results each time.
I have also no benefit in knowing that I'm INFJ (at least according to when I did it last year); I cannot be bothered to do it again (it's around a 100 questions..).

Also most of the personality tests like this one suggest I'm more a feelings and fiction person and not science. While here I am on my way to became a doctor..hopefully..one day. You see cause it's not binary; it's all grey.

Did I just write over 900 words and not one of them is me reviewing this book. This book was relatable a lot. And it was cute and fluffy. It was perfect reading material at the moment I read it. And I enjoyed it so 3 stars..That's not a bad rating; it's just to give more I need more than just cute fluffy relatableness (why is this not a word).

Also introverted personalities are not aesthetic... all personalities are. Also I've noticed me and most poeple like me that feel introverted a lot of the times are just boring. And guess what is okay; let's own are boring personalities; tumblr or anything should not tell us to be more aesthetically pleasing; and if someone is that is also okay. JUST FUCKING BE YOU.

This review is probably just a long rant amounting to nothing; maybe I'll look at it after sometime and call myself pretentious; maybe I'd be just confused. It's basically all just moo point.

Anyway (if you read through all this); thank you for coming to my ted talk
