Finally the last book in the series.
So the previous book ended on a cliff hanger which none of the rest did, so I was really intrigued to see what would happen in this book.
The whole family go on a quest to help Becky's dad Graham, to right a wrong from the past. I think the idea was a good one but some of the action in the book was ridiculous. Her friend Suze is really quite nasty to Becky and even though this is resolved and explained at the end, I feel Suze would never of gone to such extremes and would have been honest with Becky in the beginning.
The whole plot was a bit wild to be honest, with Becky and Suze dressing in disguise. Suze having an affair, Luke coming along so willingly and not leaving work, the whole plot with Alicia and Suze becoming friends.
It just wasn't believable how the characters acted as I'd known them in the previous books.

Non so se sia oggettivamente buono, o sia semplicemente sollevata dal fatto che finalmente la protagonista sia diventata un essere umano migliore, e la comicità del libro non sia principalmente dovuta all'esigenza di lei di mentire per coprire i suoi acquisti impulsivi.

To be honest, I can’t wait to finish this series. Shopaholic was the first book I read after University to get out of my reading slump school had created. It was a perfect lighthearted escape to go back to reading for fun, but now that I have read a lot more books, the Shopaholic series makes my eyes roll. Becky’s bitchy attitude against almost every women, constantly commenting in a negative way on their looks, and the plots are always based on a misunderstanding or a « secret » that is resolved when the characters finally talk to each other (at the end of the book of course). If they would have talked to each other in the first chapter there would be no story. And that is the worst kind of book in my opinion. It makes me want to yell at the characters to talk to each other and stop wasting my time. Let’s hope Christmas Shopaholic will redeem the series a bit. On to the next one!
I enjoyed the first few books in this series. light humorous fluff. Just what I need sometimes. The last couple of books have been a bit disappointing. They aren't bad exactly, just not can't-stop-turning-the-pages funny. I think it's time to end the series and move on.
Sophie Kinsella's book is an auto buy for me. I enjoyed reading this book also, but this cannot be compared to the first several books in the series.
I forgot where it left off on the last book and I had a difficult time remembering what had happened to Suze and the Alicia Bitch Long Leg.

I used to love this series, but it has really gone downhill. Neither the story is interesting anymore, nor does the humour work for me.
