Finally, Gabe’s story! I’ve loved Gabe since we first laid eyes on him in Start a Fire and his love story is just as epic as I thought it would be! He has a hilarious sense of humour, and I personally think that the author depicted ADHD quite accurately and she didn’t lean on the stereotypes. Penelope Shade is a sweet character who is so incredibly kind and unselfish, and she’s a perfect match for Gabe’s wildness.
I’m excited to see that this isn’t the end of the world that Julia Wolf has created! We’re going to be seeing love stories for Helen and Elena in 2022! I can’t wait to read a romance with the FMC named “Helen”, and it doesn’t hurt that she’s proven to be a badass, awesome side character in the first three books in the series!

Great story

So, this story, the third in the Savage Crew was definitely my favorite. Gabriel was always one of my favorite characters. He was so goofy and lovable. Yet, he harbored this home life that was sad. He knew what it was like to have next to nothing, and that shaped who he was. Despite not having much, he loved fiercely and that was so obvious in how he loved Pen. This was probably the most compelling of the three books, and the least toxic.

I wasn’t sure if I should continue reading because I didn’t love the first two stories (especially the second one), but I am so glad I pushed forward and read this.

Burn It Down is the third book in J.Wolf’s Savage Crew series. After making a lasting impression in Start a Fire and Through the Ashes, finally Gabe gets his own book and it was worth the wait. In the first two books Gabe was such a lighthearted jokester. In this book we get to see different side to Gabe and experience his hidden darkness. It was refreshing to read about Gabe’s backstory and struggles and I just wanted to give him a big hug. His life isn’t sunshine and flowers like Penelope Shade.

Penelope Shade was not the heroine I was expecting but loved. If you’ve read the other two books in the series you may have been introduced to her cousin, Elena. Penelope is nothing like her cousin. She’s sweet, nerdy, super smart but knows how to stand up for herself.

Gabe and Penelope have history. Penelope is still hurt from Gabe’s actions years ago and is guarding her heart. Of course Gabe is on a mission to steal back the heart that once belonged to him. Gabe and Penelope were electric together. I loved how protective he was of her and how supportive she was of him.

Idk how but J. Wolf managed to make me like Elena. I’m a sucker for a redemption arc and I cannot wait until we get Elena’s story. And Helen’s too! My fiery gal needs her own HEA.

Favourite of the series

I’ve loved all of the Savage River books, but Gabe has always been my favourite character. There’s a lightness to him that mixes with inner darkness. He really is the perfect hero. When you find out what he goes through in his life it makes you love him more.

Penelope is sweet, good and keeps being done over by people. The first time being Gabe when she was 14.

The push and pull of this story is wonderful, as just when you think a HEA is coming something else happens to rock it.

Wolf has really bought these characters to life in the best possible way and I did cry at certain parts of the story. I’d you love enemies to lovers, a strong heroine and a dark but funny hero, then you will live this.

Can’t wait for Savage U

This was a second chance high school enemies (kinda) to lovers with amazing plus-size representations.

This gets 5 stars when I enjoyed the story as more of a 4 star read but the plus-size rep was so good I bumped It up. this book has one of the best plus-size reps I have ever read. Confident women with no eating disorder thoughts or activity. While the back and forth was a little much and I wish the communication would have been better I really enjoyed this steamy fun romance.

TW: Fat-shaming but no eating disorder mentions, alcoholism, classism

The writing is good and it is interesting. But I believe this is a smutty book and it seems like most of the story happens with the main characters being high school students. and being the age I am I don't want to read teenagers having sex even if they might be of age
