Holy hell, I loved this book so much! I usually don't like 2nd chance romances because they tend to dwell on the bitterness over the break up, but this story was just heartwarming and adorable. Pining to the max between Jules and Ruben, but also a ton of reflection on their first attempt at a relationship and how they've grown over the last 12 years. A+ communication too. The traveling around to have guilds vote on bringing werewolves into the fold did provide good plot movement and just enough background tension to urge Jules and Ruben to speak frankly to one another.

Finally we get to hear the Juliana and Ruben back story and it does NOT disappoint!  So glad they get their second- chance romance, with a side of magic- packed action, of course. 😉

ach, this was so cute and well done. the justification of the ending of the relationship was realistic. the pining and tension was here. the spice was burning me. YESYESYES and for the first time in this series i’m excited to read next book

I love this series SO much and I’ve been looking forward to Jules and Ruben’s book since the beginning! Their story was actually kinda sad, but in, like, the most romantic way.
