I wholeheartedly love and adore this book. Farley and Meyer brought me inexplicable comfort. I was smiling, laughing, swooning and feeling all of the above because these characters took over my heart!

There’s just something so deeply comforting about a couple who simply love being together and have such a genuine friendship which seems so mundane but I can’t help but rejoice over that simple fact. Fee and Meyer’s story felt so real and tangible because of how their relationship developed. It feels like a breath of fresh air honestly.

I absolutely love Farley. I found myself crackling at some of the things she said forgetting she’s a literal comedian. I appreciate how her character was written in such an unapologetic way that truly showcased characteristics that typically have such a bad rep, especially in women. Meyer was perfect. His dedication to the people he love is so inspiring. Though he grumpy and over-protective, he truly have a heart of gold that I could feel off the pages. Yet another single dad who took over my heart. Also how could I not talk about Hazel because I love that little girl. I enjoyed every scene she was in.

Though this was romance book, the ASL and mental health representation was equally as important in this story and I believe the author did a great job at solidifying her message in her words.

This book made me so so happy and it was exactly what I needed on a gloomy sunday <3

I absolutely inhaled this book. My oooonly criticism is that the 3rd act conflict came far too late in the book and was not satisfactorily resolved IMO. The two epilogues did a good job of telling us things were ok in the long run. But what this book did great for 90% was beautifully showing us these individual moments between Meyer and Fee. I just wanted one more moment to really feel that they were ok and everything was resolved, ya know? Still felt like 5 stars to me. I love Tara DeWitt’s writing and all 3 main characters were just lovely.

I absolutely loved this book. 4.5/5 ⭐️

I loved the characters, they were both amazing. I loved that they were emotionally mature, yet both had their own moments of self doubt and anxiety. I really related to Farley in the way her mind works and spirals and I feel like the way it was portrayed was very realistic and it was nice feeling like a book character sees me.

I love seeing their family dynamic with his daughter and how loving and fierce Farley was with her.

I’m also a big sucker for fake dating and the sunshine/grump tropes.

The tension and yearning were great, the spice was good - I hoped for a little bit more, but still very enjoyable.

I feel like the ending was a bit rushed in some parts, but overall I couldn’t get enough of these characters and I loved this book.

LOVED! This book was the combo of two of my favorite things- stand up comedy & romance. He is her manager/former comedian. She has become like family to him and his daughter who she can communicate with via ASL. This book is beautiful and funny. Everything I wanted in a book. I loved the hard conversations the main characters had to have and the way the author conveys their vulnerability. A definite reread for me! 10/10
