Loved the audiobook, dual narrators for a dual POV is always nice. I loved the whole friends-to-lovers who are secretly in love with each other and start to fake date before finally admitting their feelings, but the reason they didn't get together until now annoyed me a bit because it was rooted in miscommunication. Very enjoyable overall!

3.5 stars rounded up to 4. Very sweet, breezy and genuinely funny. The miscommunication near the end drove me absolutely insane, though.

Recommended for people who enjoy standup comedy, friends to lovers and single dad stories.

This book was very cute; there was a dual timeline, a cute kid, low stakes, and a grumpy yet sweet man, so I’m not exactly didn’t work for me here. I think my biggest problem was I didn’t feel the chemistry between Farley and Meyer; I didn’t really care if they ended up together…however, I’m in the minority with this book, so if your looking for a good palate cleanser, I think you might enjoy this book.

I really wanted to like this book, but the pacing felt off to me. The moving back and forth in time was jarring and the switch between character perspectives didn’t always feel smooth. Those things took me out of the story at times which was frustrating because I thought the base for the characters was really good. They were complex and had interesting motives and back stories, I just needed better pacing.

It was nice to see ASL represented. There were two POV's.The main female character, Farley, and the main male character, Meyer. Timelines jumped between then and now. It had a nice fall vibe, including apple picking. I wasn't a huge fan of the twist, which is why this is a 4 star instead of a 5 star. But I still really enjoyed the story.
The tropes:
Friends to Lovers
Fake Dating
Single dad
Force proximity
Spicy romance 🌶🌶🌶

I thought this book was super cute, I love the comedy aspect of it. It was definitely a fluff kind of read perfect for the Summer. I think I’m just not the biggest fan of friends/coworkers to lovers. I did love the single dad trope, though !!! 3 ⭐️

Side-stitchingly funny. Precious beyond words. Literally made me weep -- no lie.
Let me tell you, I totally expected to like this book and for it to be a sweet, quick, read that was light and fun. What I did not expect was to be completely swept off my feet and drown in Farley and Meyer's love story.
Y'ALL. This is SOOOOOOOO cute. I love friends-to-lovers fake dating when they are ALREADY ABSOLUTELY FREAKING OBSESSED WITH EACH OTHER.
Ugh, my heart feels like it's going to burst out of my chest.
Send help.
Beautiful. Chaotic. Insane in the best kind of way.

It was okay! I really wanted to love it because it was one of the books my husband gifted me at Christmas (we each chose one book we knew the other wanted and one book we thought they might like, and this was a fun-sounding one he’d landed on for me!) - plus the cover is so cute.

He’d remembered how much I loved watching The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and thought I might like the concept of the main character being a female comedian, and it definitely made that connection for me!

While it was a good story overall, something about the writing and delivery just didn’t click with me and I might have DNF’d it if I wasn’t determined to finish it out of sheer appreciation for my husband’s thoughtfulness. I think maybe this one was a bit too cheesy/Hallmark-y for me, but then again the romance genre is not always my go-to so there’s that. But still a sweet story with great characters, especially Hazel! 🫶🏼
