This book was on par with the others I. The series. A good, quick read.

I will say, I didn’t like the reason for the breakup. Sure, Holden had every right to be a little suspicious when it came out that she knew who he was the whole time, but it felt very out of character for Holden to be outright cruel to her in that moment. Sure he boxed at a shady club, but he never struck me as an asshole. Angry about things in his life, yes. But not mean.

I enjoyed this book somewhat but the lie-by-ommission/miscommunication trope didn't work for me. I could tell from very early in the book that Blair not telling Holden that she was his cleaner was going to create a forced miscommunication and 3rd act break up, and it felt like a cheap set up. Blair had multiple opportunities to tell him but didn't, and it just made the plot unenjoyable.

I did like both leads as individual characters though, and the series itself is a fun one so I'm not mad I read this. I just wished the author had gone a different route for the plot and given the couple a better obstacle to overcome in the 3rd act (extra points if it's something they overcome together rather than a silly break up).

I really liked Holden and Blair, but the end when he was upset with her about not telling him she was his cleaner was dumb. He blew it way out of proportion. Like, he's a doctor in his 40s, i felt like he should've handled it better. Also I didn't feel like there was enough groveling at the end, he said sorry once and she forgave him.
