DID NOT FINISH: 50%

It was just too close to Kore. I might come back to it but, it's not for me right now. Maybe if it was a dual pov that would make it better instead of being two separate books.

Overview of my thoughts- I have to say, I liked this book more than A Touch of Darkness. The reason I picked up this book was kinda to see if I could give a Hades and Persephone story a chance again because...let's just say I hated the last time I read a book focusing on the two. I mean, this one had a plot! A Touch of Darkness didn't! Between the two, I have to choose the one that has a plot, you know?

Plot- The book is told from the God of Darkness' point of view, Hades. It is my understanding that the first book is told from Kore/Persephone's point of view, but the reason I picked this one up is because it was free on Kindle, lol. But, honestly, I did enjoy the concept of the book. The beginning was a bit slow, but I kept hoping for it to get better, which it did. The plot itself was slightly repetitive on many things, but I feel like the romance really brought a lot to it. This book was character driven for sure.

Wasn't my favorite plot of all time but it was decent.

Characters- I love the nymphs!! Alena is my favorite, by far :)

Speaking of nymphs, I'm sad that Hades didn't turn Minthe into a mint plant like classic mythology says. I don't know, that's just one of my favorite bits of mythology.

As for Hades and Kore, I feel like their characters were a bit dull. They were better together.

Hermes was such a fun character as well!

Romance- The romance carried the book, 100%

It was nice how it wasn't an instant love kinda deal, and how the beginning gave a bit of the backstory for the two of them. Plus, I like how the author didn't follow the whole kidnapping-Persephone deal, and how he found her injured in his realm. I think the chemistry between them was well built up.

Age rating- 18+

Overall- Decent book :)

I love Kore and Hades. This is Kore’s story from the perspective of Hades. Hades is heavenly and I know he is lord of the underworld and ruler of the dead but man oh man, do I adore him. I think I liked having this version of the story because it explains the actions of hades so well. His thoughts, his actions, the whys, the voice in his head that matches Persephone. I had received the ARC, thank Ambrosia Harris, but ordered a physical copy about 40% in because I knew I had to have it.
