The main romance is M/F. Not a bad thing or bad book because of it, just not what I was expecting.

The second half of this book really found its stride and has me sold on the whole series now, I cannot wait to pick up book two.

While the first half felt a bit slow and meandering, the setting and the characterization the author sets up in these pages really has a pay off as the book progresses.

I loved how strong and delicate she made each of the main characters and how she drops hints for the plot but was still able to surprise me.

This is the king’s blade assassin story that I wish more people were ardently reading.
