This series have been my fluff favorite for a long time now. All the purring and petting and wolfs and cats and psys is completely ridiculous but still so fun. I like much of the world building that has been done here and the romances are fun. This one was not the most fascinating character or relationship development....pretty formulaic but I still like the formula. Its been a pandemic since I read the last book in this series I think....or at least a trauma or two...and I kind of forgot some of the characters and relationships but still, good enough. Fun quick read and it seems that there are several more already published so maybe I'll keep going while I remember who most these characters are-LOL.

I really liked this one. I liked that their relationship remained solid throughout and they both gave what the other needed. Loved Memory’s strength and self-assurance and Alexis courting of her was adorable. The overall plot developing was interesting as well.

Really more 3.5 than 4 stars but I'm giving it the extra half because I felt that there was real depth to the relationship and for how well all of the characters returning from other books were integrated into the storyline (not always true for this series- sometimes it feels like cameos for the sake of cameos, here the returning characters had genuine reasons to be there and participate. I have to say that there is a recurrent theme of torture and trauma (especially against women) that sometimes feels overwhelming but regardless, the heroine in this was stronger and had a great deal of agency that I appreciated.

Another awesome installment from Nalini. Once I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down until I finished it. This book delved into the background around Alexei and rogues, and watching his relationship develop with Memory was really well built out. My only complaint would be around sense of time - everything happens so rapidly. In comparison to Sahara and Kaleb, or Mercy and Riley, or Sascha and Lucas, or Clay and Talin, this relationship felt like it progressed in a very short time (1 day to less 2 months???) This book built on previous information about the E’s we learned about in the past couple of books. It was great seeing cameos of familiar faces, Sahara and Kaleb, Yuri, etc. it’s nice seeing Sascha and Jaya growing into their roles, and how the empath collective has matured. Also learning about the sub designations like E sigma was very neat, and I liked that they Nalini was able to make empaths into something other than just ~gentle healers.~

The Pax Marshall storyline seems like something going to be fleshed out in a future book and the harmony concept seems like it will be fleshed out more.

Sahara and Kaleb are still my favorite couple from the psy-changeling series but Memory and Alexei are right underneath them. Their story was really captivating.
