Such a cute story!! The art work was beautiful and watching Ari and Hector's relationship was adorable!  The portrayal of how complicated lives can be when growing up (and even as adults) with looking forward to your future, figuring out your place in the world now, and the emotions that come with all of it. I did find it weird that Ari only practiced with his band once even though he talked and talked about how much he loved it and even after he hired Hector as a replacement. Aside from that it was cute!

If I could find a different book just like this to read everyday of the summer, it would be the most perfect summer the world ever saw.

Fuck it, I love cute gay stories with happy endings. It's literally my favorite thing to read and watch. This story was *exactly what I wanted it to be*.
I mean, this book is fantastic. The art is beautiful. The blue is such an aesthetic choice. It reminded me a lot of reading This One Summer, which is all purple. I loved that one too. It's just a fantastic element to the story telling, I think. Plus, like, the art's just so good. Cannot complain.
One thing I really loved was the character flaws. Sometimes, I find that when people write queer stories, they try to overcompensate by making their queer characters completely without fault. This is very frustrating to me, and many other readers alike. No one likes a perfect protagonist. This story's protag is far from perfect, but he's still entirely wonderful.
And, my absolute favorite thing about this book, and in queer media in general, is a happy ending. We're all still suffering from Bury Your Gays tropes here, but this book does not feed into it. It ends happy. It ends beautifully. I'm so glad I read this. I want to read it over and over again. I'm extremely glad I bought it and didn't just get it from the library.
