Did not like it. Too graphic for my taste and the characters did such shitty things I hated hearing about it. The narrator of the audiobook had a really good voice and performed well.

It's probably a good book, but the events were too horrific for me (I know it's a horror book!)

Heavy on explanation and exposition, but ultimately riveting, bizarre, and unlike anything else I’ve ever read.

Not for the faint of heart, the horror and gore verge on traumatic, but they are always used with power and intention. It has something of a heist movie and something of American Gods. Four stars because there were too many sections where the characters sat around explaining things to each other, but happily the dialogue is snappy enough that those sections don’t drag. Overall, I’d put it near the top of my new reads for this year, both in creativity and writing.
