I just can't get enough of Lauren Layne books! I was so so happy when Loveswept let me read this early too!

I loved the Stiletto series so much, when I heard there would be a spin off series about the guys I was so excited! And it is living up to my expectations big time.

This book got me hooked from the prologue's last sentence, saying Mollie was in love with her brother in law.. I knew this could only mean a ton of drama.

Jackson was the typical football guy who doesn't know what to do when his career ends before his time. He turned into a grumpy guy who pushes everyone away, untill he lets Mollie back into his life and she makes it better.

I can't wait for the 3rd part of these series and I certainly hope I will get to read that early too!

I would have DNF- ed at 15% but I didn't because of Lincoln and other couples.I just couldn't get over the fact that Jackson is now with his ex' wife's sister?? I mean... no. No matter what, that is your sister !!! I should have skip this one.

DNF. I liked the beginning with the mermaid fountain, there was chemistry between the heroine and hero but it fell through. I didn't feel the fizzle after that sadly. It dragged on and I skipped a lot. Decided not to finish.

My first finished read of the year and it was a bust.
Eh, I'm not counting it though because I started this last year lol.

Anyway, review to come.

✩ 3.5 stars.

’Mollie had spent her entire life trying to do the right thing—going out of her way to do what she was supposed to, even when she wanted to do the exact opposite. But tonight her heart had betrayed her. Tonight her heart had done the wrong thing. No, the absolute worst thing.
Tonight, at her sister’s wedding, Mollie Carrington had gone and fallen head over heels in love.
With the groom.’

i was so close to giving this book a high rating until the drama hit at the end. ;-;
p.s. i’m finally about to read lincolin’s book! i’ve been dying for his story! <3

I was really between a 3.5 and a 4 stars review, so I guess this is a 3.8? Lol.
The book was strange to me. I love the series, the author. However, everything felt rushed, the events of the story, it was too short for such a complex plot. I think Mollie should have been stronger towards her sister and towards the end not let herself get manipulated so easily by her. And Jackson fell for Mollie really fast, and I don't know. Something felt off.
But I did enjoyed the book, the chemistry between them in the sexy parts was huge and I felt it in my stomach.
I think Mollie could have had a lot to offer as a character, but it wasn't fully developed. everything revolved around her feelings for Jackson.
And I loved 'hearing' about the older characters, the Stiletto girls and the Oxford guys. And I think Lincoln is gay? Either that or something dark, as his secret, so I can't wait to read his story!

I recommend the book, is light and even though I had some issues with the sister's ex thing and character development, it was a fun, sexy read.

P.S I received a copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

okay so...i didn’t expect to like this to be honest. since i didn’t know jackson and mollie, i was kinda “meh” to read jackson’s book (honestly just wanted to read lincoln’s) but this turned out to be better than i expected! maybe it’s because of the best/good friends to lovers trope i just like any book with that trope lmao. but anyway, mollie is just the sweetest person ever and jackson was a whole softie for her. also the roommate trope >>>>>>

okay i initially though this was lincoln's and daisy's book lool, and I CAN SEE WHY. this was honestly a pretty random main cast. like mollie had nothing to do with Oxford, and frankly NEITHER DID JACKSON. yet here we are. as the second book. but anyway, this was like... taboo, jackson falls in love with his ex-wife's little sister (pls get a GRIP). mollie was fun, i don't remember much about her except that she got a makeover in like chapter 2?? idk why that bothered me but it did. it made jackson seem really superficial bc he all of the sudden was like "oh wait shes hot", and it also didn't go with the mollie personality that we got for the rest of the book. but, despite my commentary, i know why i gave this book three stars... bc of goddamn cole and lincoln and the Stiletto people. like pls will i ever get over the Stiletto series (no) but we can pretend like i didn't read this whole series just for the julie, grace, riley, and emma (and their guys) cameos,
