I think that this is a great book! Alaxander Dumas describes this story amazingly well. If you haven't read this book yet, then you need to read it!!! Totally different than any movie versions I've heard about or seen, but that is to the movies discredit!

Really enjoyed this one, but not a fan of the ending. Specifically, Monte Cristo’s love interest. Yes, I know this book was written in a different time but even accounting for that it felt very random, rushed, and not well thought out, unlike the rest of the book.

I'm pleased I finally had an opportunity to read this book, revenge cruelty and mercy. Have to say I did think some of his actions were questionable. it is quite the tome and it took me a long time, there were times it dragged and there were times it just zipped past! The pacing of it did remind me of fan fiction, the way certain chapters would finish in a wee bit of a cliffhanger so you just had to immediately read the next chapter to find out what was happening.
I think I started this about 5 times over the last few years, but once you get past the prison part, it becomes really awesome.
