4.75 stars. Wow. This is the best ya romance I've read, I think. Idk, maybe I have a terrible memory, but it was definitely the best in a while. It had COMPLEX and RELATEABLE main characters that weren't just cardboard cut-outs, who actually were pretty healthy and talked to each other about their feelings! A miracle! It was charming, it was fun, it was like a warm hug, I was invested, I was smiling, it was simply a wonderful time! We also had family feels and food, which I will never say no to! Ahh, I love when a book surpasses my expectation. This was the perfect fluffy, fun YA read that I needed.

Great book, the ending was a little rushed, but it had a lot of great plot and romance! I loved the characters, and their struggles gave them a lot of depth especially Jake. I thought it was really interesting how he felt pressured to take over the restaurant, and the inner conflict of feeling stuck in his twin brothers shadow was written very well, and made me really connected to him. I also love how Ethan (his twin) also felt jealous of Jake, while Jake was jealous of Ethan. Going back to the plot, the twitter feud and weasal app were very creative, and it was interesting to see their school competiviness, and how everyone was able to put that behind them and connect anonymously with the weasal app that Jake created. The book had a lot of great plot points and was never boring, usually I dont like contemperary romance because I feel like there is not enough plot, but I guess I just needed to find more books like this one! Loved it!

the book was a fun, light hearted read! i enjoyed the banter, and the dynamic between pepper and jack was so so cute.
there was definitely some beautiful writing throughout the chapters, and a few quotes that hit deep.
the ending just really fell flat for me. it felt rushed, and i just wasn’t very satisfied.
i wish we were able to see more of pepper and jacks relationship grow rather than each time it progressed even the slightest bit something knocked it back.

"'Hey, Jinx means you're not allowed to talk. Did you have a childhood?'
'I actually came out of the womb a Twitter bot.'"

"I have this sudden feeling of wanting to grab the words from the air, put them somewhere permanent in me, like they can anchor me in a way nothing else has."

this was the cutest damn thing i've read in a long time. there were a healthy number of fantasy/sci-fi/dystopia-ish stories, but most were just super interesting adorable ideas of meet cutes. fun and feel-good.

too cute
