y’all already know I’m a sucker for these books

★★ // i was so sure i would love this book, until i got to the chapter before the epilogue and i just kind of felt weird about everything. suddenly, i am not sure if it was even okay to feel the same way about Pepper and Jack. i also did not like that this revelation was put out there at the last minute with no time to get properly resolved.

i don’t hate the book because i enjoyed it for the most part. i read this on audiobook and really liked Dan Bittner who voiced for Jack. but damn, that turn in the story really made the difference for me. what a waste.

Thank you to Wednesday Books and NetGalley for my copy of this fun, witty, updated YA version of You’ve Got Mail.
.
Summary from the book: Meet Pepper, swim team captain, chronic overachiever, and all-around perfectionist. Her family may be falling apart, but their massive fast-food chain is booming ― mainly thanks to Pepper, who is barely managing to juggle real life while secretly running Big League Burger’s massive Twitter account.

i didn’t think i liked YA books about high schoolers anymore BUT I ADORED THIS! so so cute! the banter, the twitter war, the secret identities, the complexity with family relationships and identity?! love!!!
lighthearted medium-paced

Was this book anything exceptional? To be honest, not really. Was it super sweet and funny? Yes. Did I love it? YES. Pepper and Jack are super sweet and funny together, and I’m always a sucker for a good enemies-to-lovers. If you’re in the mood for a sweet, sappy, funny romance book, this is the one for you.

A fun romcom.
Would have preferred if it hadn't taken place in highschool because teenagers are the worst but, still fun.

Also: if they weren't so into athletics, they'd definitely be obese. Jesus.

Cute. Had some ups and downs. The adults were super immature, but they had reasons i guess. The conflicts were frustrating. The fact that the premise revolves around tweets dates the story a little, but not as bad as i expected.
