It’s a stinking cute,fun and a quick read. I read it as an audiobook and it reads pretty fast, it addresses quite common issues like peer pressure, family dynamics, sibling rivalries and relationship drama with such ease, I enjoyed the quirky dialogues and witty tweets in the story.
One thing I absolutely adored is the non-cliched characters, I was hesitant when I read that it’s about two teens but you cannot help but love either of them because for once they are not “the cliched teenagers” like usually the books picture them as. The fresh take on the story is a major plus to the book and the way it’s told with more of a positive tone gives it additional brownie points. Overall pretty enjoyable read!

Absolutely loved this book. I just wish it came with a warning not to read it on an empty stomach!
I don’t read YA books much anymore just because I find the romance to be too... childish, but I really enjoyed this book and I think it fits well in the YA genre, considering the plot. I liked all the characters and the plotline tied off all the loose strings. I did find Pepper’s mother to be incredibly tone dead and petty, though. Also now I’m hungru and it’s 1 am.
Okay, to be honest I was hoping to really enjoy this book considering I am an avid twitter user (I even made a thread live-tweeting my reaction to it lol) and I love the rivals to lovers trope, but it felt too much like a fan-fiction (but not in a good way).
Even though I have a lot of problems with the book, I can say I did enjoy Jack as a character. Him constantly making High School Musical references is adorable. He's incredibly charming while also flawed which made him compelling. I just wanna marry that man.
Now to what I didn't like:
Pepper is.. okay? I mean compared to Jack, I hard time connecting with her character. I honestly don't have much to say about her lol.
Okay-- plot.
I feel like the mystery aspect of Pepper and Jack not knowing the other is running the Twitter accounts was ended all too quickly which kind of left me uninterested in how the rest of the story would go. It would have been more captivating to see how Jack would have reacted if he found out much later after falling for Pepper or something. I feel like it could've been played out way better. Maybe this has to do with the fact that juggling various forms of interactions between Pepper and Jack was a little too much at certain moments;
(1) They're battling it out on Twitter not aware it's each other (which it really does not make sense with me how Pepper's mom is so petty about her ex that she steals a recipe from a small business).
(2) They are working together for their respective sports clubs.
(3) They are also coincidentally also online friends on an app Jack designed
The whole concept of beefing on Twitter while falling in love seems like an interesting prompt, but people beginning to ship Pepper and Jack felt really... unrealistic. While yes, this is a fictional novel, it's supposed to be grounded in some sense of reality is it not? While shipping two teenagers on Twitter seems like such a Twitter thing to do, I had a really hard time believing that many people cared enough about the whole twitter thing that in the end, they do a "where are they now" thing.
Overall, felt like a cliche fan-fiction and I'll probably never read it again. Due to removing the "they don't know they are fighting with each other on Twitter!!" aspect so early made everything else fall flat.
