To say I loved this book would be an understatement. When I finished it, I wanted to tear apart my (wildly annotated) copy apart with my bare hands and eat it.

It's an enemies-to-lovers story in the most wonderfully tense, forbidden-love kind of way. It's immensely satisfying to see very different people become more and more curious about each other's lives and thoughts. The pacing of this book is beautiful.

The first "I love you" spills out in an overflowing deluge after being held back behind the dam for so long.

Beautiful story with a beautiful end. The prose is dense—gorgeous—but at times overly complicated in a way that impacts the flow of the story. This book left me with questions and confusions, but if I was to return to it, I think I would find my answers on a second read, and would not grow tired of the prose.

It has been hyped up so much that I maybe expected more from it. I think if I went into this book with lower expectations, I’d have enjoyed it more. Kind of vague and predictable at the same time.
