Beautiful, Outstanding, Fabulous!!!

This book was very different from what I have ever read, but it was perfect.
This story is written by two different authors, with 1 author writing Red's story and the other writing Blue's story. I definitely recommend this for anyone; it's a good, all-around adult sci-fi romance book for people who aren't even into sci-fi or romance

SPOILERS BELOW*****

There are 2 factions at war against each other that are looking for a new place to live. Red and Blue are leaders in the search for their faction's home, but they are also at war against each other.

Red and blue start writing letters to each other at first about who would win the war and what would happen to the other faction. As letters go on, red and blue start to fall for each other, and they would do anything to leave their faction and be together.

The letters are just beautiful; every single one has a heart and soul to it.

Letter from blue " It occurs to me to dwell on what a microcosm we are if the war as a whole, you and I. The physics of us. An action and an equal and opposite reaction. My viny-hivey elfworld, as you say, versus your techy-mechy dystopia. We both know it's nothing so simple, any more than a letter's reply is its opposite. But which egg preceded what platypus? The end don't always resemble our means"

Red's letter: " You wish you could hold me at knifepoint again. You do, still in a way. So long as I bear these last three seeds in a hollow behind my eye, you are a blade against my back. I love the danger of it. Besides, I am not so naive as to think your posting to this strand entirely lacks purpose. Your garden works slowly, work through lives. it burrows you deep, and through you wreaks great change, while we strive upon the surface."

As pretentious as it is aspiring.
The language is beautiful, wants to be beautiful and lyrical but often just reaches purple prose and becomes repetive very fast.
Many sentaces feel like they want to be the iconic declaration of love but there are so many of them, that they just become white noise you forget about.
Would have loved it and it's telling of a story in this weird, abstract world, if it wouldn't have tried as hard.

In the end, it feels more of the idea of poetic writing, a high school writing class pupil has, than actual poetic writing.

Are you kidding me? It's actually rude that this book is as good as it is. I absolutely loved it from start to finish.
