the 3 stars is not set in stone it ranges from a 3-4 .. dont know how to explain that … anyway this was my first epistolary novel ! i feel like this book went by quickly it was exhilarating and confusing and i think it’s better to take it on in doses but you start to get the hang of reading it. i dont think i fully grasped it at (many) times but i’m enough of a romantic to appreciate the lyricism and fall for the prose. there is something of an orpheus and eurydice parallel at the end .. also i cant believe it took me seeing a twitter thread 9 hours later of someone reading it to suddenly understand a part of the book

The main characters have little to distinguish their personalities. The prose seems very satisfied with itself. I found myself bored in the middle, though the end wrapped up well as the best part of the book.

This wasn’t bad in any way, I just never fully got into this book. I loved the nicknames and humor throughout this book and at the same time its ability to hurt me. I almost wish this book was longer so we could get to know the characters and world better.
