After watching Eyes Wide Shut, I learned this story was the source material.
The movie and the book are identical. The only thing that bothered me was that the party was never fully explained, what was it?
I guess its part of the appeal.

Quick read. It's the story from Eyes Wide Shut but with less fucking talking. Guy is pervy but still upset that his wife thinks about other dudes. So he almost pokes a prosti and goes to the masked sex party and gets in trouble. Then weird shit happens. His wife has a weird dream. His buddy goes missing. A prosti goes missing. There's a dead chick in a hotel. Then the guy talks with his wife and they agree they're both really happy they made it through it all.

It was interesting to read the source material and compare it to what I remember from the movie. There's less tits in the book but there's also none of Nicole Kidman's inability to portray a convincing stoned person.

A good appetizer of a read though.

Love,

Mitch

Makes me wish I hadn’t seen Eyes Wide Shut a thousand times. If I hadn’t, I would absolutely love this. But the Kubrick adaptation is so close to the original, it’s not really worth reading after seeing the movie.

As always: nothing but respect for my mans Arthur for publishing his horny writing and having it become a German classic.
I‘m still very fond of this book and I quite enjoyed this audiobook version as a background noise for falling asleep these last days. Ironically I do not remember having dreamt anything at all lately.
