I still love it all these years later

Truth, Freedom, Justice and a Hard-Boiled Egg.... I really do think the full set of Discworld books should be required reading for anybody aspiring to being a human. Morality, hard choices, good choices, humour, tears, all there for you wrapped in the most incisive satire possible.

Very much on form with this one (although I was anxious for poor old Sybil!) and a real step towards the dark. Lots to enjoy, but happy-go-lucky fun it wasn't.

No review I ever write about this book will do it justice so I'm not even going to try.

All I will say is infinite stars. This is one of the best books ever written. It wraps me up and whispers 'everything will ok' even as it's stabbing me in the back and reminding me of the futility of it all.

Sam Vimes for president, prime minister, King and Emperor.

All hail Pratchett, one of the best.

'How do they rise up, rise up high?'
