I severely underestimated the bad guys in this one. 

The series is literary gold.

Literally WHAT happened in this book. Everything that did happen could have happened in like 4 chapters and then this book could have been about the actual plot instead of tying up a bunch of loose ends from side plots. You can't take a whole book away from the main plot to work through your side plots. The point of the side plots is that they're on the SIDE. On the side of the MAIN. these authors are STARVING ME OF THE MAIN PLOT. (Spoiler warning) Where are the aliens!!!!!!!!!! You can't introduce aliens and then completely forget about them for 2 whole books!!! If the aliens don't come back in the next book I'll be so mad. Tldr; reading this book was like going to a 5 star restaurant but all they can give you is mashed potatoes or salad or bread. At first it's great but by the third time you go there you're like alright I want the main dish now please
