I really wish we would’ve gotten chapters with Sam’s perspective because man was Phoebe way too insecure to spend 330 pages with. I enjoyed parts of it but the romance felt a little rushed and underdeveloped. I was hoping to like this a lot more than I actually did :/

This could have been a really good book but it fell flat. There was basically no plot and the FMC was nearly insufferable. I did learn new stuff about serial killers

i'm gonna be brutally honest with this one, the first half was PAINFUL to push through. i almost dnf'd this book once or twice before i got to around 50% of the way through. the fmc was just way too insufferable for me and i just thought she was awful with no sign in sight that she would get any better, the constant serial killer references and the doing 20 backflips to jump to a conclusion got boring quickly for me... BUT! i do think at around half way through the story seemed to pick up slightly and it felt like she was actually becoming more tolerable. i didnt get the character development i'd hoped for with phoebe but just the fact i didnt want to knock her over as much anymore meant that good progress was made, right????? right. alicia thompson, u deserve these 4 stars, u truly did save ur ass with the second half of this book. i may have added an extra star for sam being such a cute mmc but still 4 stars nonetheless queen
