The main protagonist is one of the most irritating, irrational, paranoid, rude, boring individuals I’ve ever read. She’s thoroughly unlikeable and unrelatable. I really had to force myself to push through the first half of the book.
Even after she becomes a little less awful, the story is boring. Nothing happens, at all. She blathers on about serial killers a lot, as if this should be shocking but it’s just blah, the other characters are also boring and unfleshed out. There was also something in the writing style that suggested it may have originally been set in the UK. I felt there were a few UK colloquialisms used that then jarred with the Florida back drop.
This is a solid - do not read - for me.

This was cute but to be honest I was more invested in how the cat was doing than her relationship with Sam.
