3.39 AVERAGE

3.75. Could have been more spicy but I like the mention of Chrvches

The link between true crime and romance didn’t work for me, which was a bummer because I think it could be great in theory. Mostly I was bored and didn’t enjoy the FMC.

The book seemed promising with its cover, synopsis, and title, but ultimately left me a bit bored. Phoebe, a cynic with a crunchy exterior, and her passion for true crime, alongside the humor of Connor and the warmth of Sam, were highlights. However, the plot, with its slow-burning romance and disjointed sections, failed to engage me. While I liked the concept and Phoebe's character growth, the story lacked the anticipated spark.

3.5⭐️ the story was fun but there honestly was barely a real plot. It would of been more fun if he did more serial killer like things but she’s just fixated on them that’s why she even suspected not in the first place

5⭐️ for being in Tampa and the Tampa bay lightning reference. Also hella nostalgic references which I thoroughly enjoyed

although i’m more into fake crime than true crime, the main characters automatic thoughts about people’s potential to be a serial killer or assume the worst in a situation were extremely relatable. i really liked the progression of the mc’s relationship, but in classic romance form, the lack of communication to resolution left something to be desired

This book had promise. The cover is cute, I love true crime and love. But this book was not it. I didn't like Phoebe, the main character, at all. There just wasn't a plot after the first few chapters. I kept waiting for something else to happen around all the details but it just never went anywhere.

I like a love story but this book was way too graphic about their sexual escapades and was written oddly. I was absolutely not expecting that. The end also wrapped up super quickly and rushed.

There was a cat which is always an added bonus, and I liked most of the other characters. I love true crime so the true crime references were interesting and clever.

I loved Phoebe + Sam! Phoebe was shockingly relatable as an MC - Camry, Capricorn, True Crime. This was such a fun summer read
