Okay, admittedly I'm 2 for 4 on Thompson's books. This is her first, and I adored her most recent. The middle two? Not for me. This one, however? Pretty good. I was hooked on it til the third act breakup that legit made me almost put it down. I thought there's no way they can come back from this. Do I think she was ready to say I love you? No. Do I think she should've told him she wanted to go slow but start again? Absolutely. But did it make me hate the other 99% of the book? No. It was a good book! I loved her fixation on serial killers. Other than that there wasn't much that was unique about it but it made for a good read.

Was this book good? Yeah. Was it great? Meh. Nothing ground breaking. I was intrigued with the whole “writing a PhD on serial killers” part because I am a lover of true crime. I did feel it was a bit disjointed with the rest of the story. It was definitely an easy, fun read, but nothing to go screaming from the roof tops about.
