I started this immediately after finishing The Kingdom of this Wicked trilogy, mostly because of how intrigued I was to discover more about Envy. Got to say I thoroughly enjoyed this and It managed to retain my attention easily. The spice in this one is way more than the original series and I adored the smouldering dynamic Envy and Camilla shared. Their chemistry was combustible and so intense and I'm thrilled we will be getting a book for each brother in the future.

This sees Envy enter the human realm to play a game one that means everything to him. A thoughtless decision many years prior is now having some far-reaching and devastating consequences and Envy's entire court is in danger of paying the harsh price, if he cannot win the game currently in play devised by the devious Unseelie king, Lennox, Envy stands to lose everything he holds dear.

Camilla is eeking her existence out in Waverly Green following the stifling rules of society, working as an artist and also attempting to outwit lord Vexley who is currently blackmailing her and if she doesn't play ball he could ruin her. When newcomer lord Ashford Synton enters the picture Camilla's life as she knows it is about to be tipped upside down. Pulled into Envys game she finds herself leaving Waverly Green and travelling to the seven circles and as the two work together their attraction towards each other inevitably explodes. Both Camilla and Envy are keeping secrets but they still can't help but grow closer, despite the sky-high walls each has erected. Then there's also Envy's rule of one night only also standing in their way.

This was an easy well-written read, it was such a page-turner and despite being a lengthy read I wasn't ever bored. I adored both Envy and Camilla they are a perfect match and I also appreciated seeing familiar characters from the Kingdom of the Wicked trilogy. I'm definitely on board for experiencing the other brother's stories and liked the more adult flavour this one imparted. I recommend reading this starting with the kingdom of the wicked trilogy.
