Zwłaszcza Holden, a on bywa nie do zniesienia.

Byle do 6 tomu :)

Leviathan Wakes is a great science fiction novel. The writer(s) do a good job with making it relatable while having the traditional elements of Sci fi and a good story. Most Sci fi has a lot of jargon and terminology that makes even the most mundane things hard to read.

I listened to the audio book version and it is kind of long but it's a testament that it never really drags.

The way the story is set up helps you to keep track of what's happening because events overlap as you switch the perspectives between characters. While they have different views Miller and Halden they provide a good yin and yang dynamic. Their two opposing views are articulated well.

The political machinations are handled deftly and our main cast of characters that we end up following are all cool if standard. I also like the diversity described in the future. Another good positive story telling aspect is that there are consequences. People die and the universe is never the same.

The ending for me is kind of annoying because it's a bit sappy but as a set up for the rest of the series it works.

It is fun seeing the differences between this and the show and both of them still being good, both are definitely worth checking out

Having just completed reading Leviathan Wakes, all I can think to say is that it may have been the best science fiction I've read in 20 years.

This book was so much fun! I got pretty strong Firefly vibes from this book, although I can’t pinpoint exactly what it was about the book that reminded me of Firefly. It was fun, action packed, and super diverse. I will definitely be reading more in this series.

I usually live in the realm of thriller, fantasy and magic, with a little bit of contemporary sprinkled in. So this sci fi series is so out of my playing field. There was a lot of sci fi jargon that went over my head and I didn’t care for, but the story itself was interesting to me. Specifically Miller’s because of the mystery he’s trying to solve. I do enjoy different character perspectives, but I felt like Holden only became interesting closer to the end. I found his character to be kind of boring and brought the plot to a screeching halt sometimes.
Sci fi can feel overwhelming to me sometimes. It can veer off into technical territories that lose me or take me out of the story. So I have mixed feelings about this first book. I feel like I might need to reread it and then give another update later on about my rating for it. It is a popular television series now so I have hopes for it becoming more interesting. Let’s put a pin in it with 3 stars for now.
