Incredible that Le Guin had more progressive views on gender in the 60s than a lot of people do today.

This was a really wonderful, heartfelt story. Ai and Estraven's journey through the snow will stick with me for a very long time.

The best one yet. Contained a lot of interesting yet depressing themes, whilst forever staying hopeful and inspired.

le guin’s scintillating prose, detailed worldbuilding, and fascinating characters help envisage a world without gender and of varying cultures that somehow still offer insight to modern-day Earth. even in very bleak circumstances, le guin crafts intimate moments and injects them with such compassion so that you deeply understand the characters and believe that they’ll get through.

a classic of science-fiction, and rightly so.
