I envy the love and emotional intimacy displayed in this story. I envy the prospect of living in a society unencumbered by a gender binary. I appreciated the story's clever jibes at the concept and absurdity in gender norms and the gender binary.

My heart will ache for a few more days as I'll miss spending time in this story's world, these characters, and mourning a reality that isn't meant for this lifetime.

It's a great, well written slow paced book, perfect for a holiday. It did feel a bit unfinished though. It took a long time to get into the book and then it's suddenly all over.

Be aware, the introduction contains spoilers. (I don't get it why publishers put that in front of the book).
