this is SO different from Monster. it's so fast paced, action filled, and a lot more characters. I can definitely see similarities but I could never compare it to Monster as of now.

I was finally settling into the 2014 portion of the storyline when the story flashes back to precisely where we left the main 2000 storyline in volume five. It was a welcome return. While the 20th century story didn't wrap up, it moved satisfactorally forward.

This series began with the 1997-2000 storyline flashing back to the 1970s, and now we have the 2014 storyline flashing back to the 2000 storyline. It works, but now I'm wondering what it would have been like to have had the 2014 storyline since the beginning. To get to know and enjoy the newer characters from the beginning.

Ah, well.

I look forward to seeing how Urasawa breaks his pattern in future volumes.

the bloody new year’s eve flashback slash reveal is going so smoothly with newly characters that perhaps is some truth-revealer key point.

Aw yeah! This is more like it. This volume delves back into what exactly happened in the past. We are that much closer to knowing the fate of our protagonists. Heck of a cliffhanger ending, luckily the next volume awaits me.

Following the prison break from the previous volume, this volume gets into what I've been dying to know; what happened during the bloody new year. At last, we got to know the back story!
