Secret Keeper doesn't live up to Henna Artist, but it is a nice read with some gorgeous scenery. The central conflict of the novel isn't particularly engaging, and it's fairly obvious from early on what's going on and how it'll be resolved, but that allowed me to focus more on the setting, so I'm fine with it. The story is split between three perspectives, which I think led to quite a lot of repetition, as the characters share the same bits of information with the reader again and again. From that angle, it could've benefitted from a bit more editing.

This is a sequel to The Henna Artist. And while you could read it as a stand-alone story, it's much better if you've read the first. I loved that this sequel was a decade later.
