The language was gorgeous, and the author did a wonderful job of making Circe sympathetic, while also very clearly portraying her as an immortal, not a human. It’s very character, rather than plot driven. I found it overall satisfying.
Kinda could’ve done without the end pairing but… we just move on.

I have not read a great book in a long time, but this... I am completely speechless. Amazing, wonderful, captivating. Honestly now that I’ve finished, I don’t know what to do. I already LOVED Greek/Roman mythology, but this made me love it even more. I also loved Circe and her slow character development, and her relationship with her son. But can we talk about the ending though??? Hands down the best book I’ve read in 2019. Can’t believe it’s been sitting on my booklist for months.
