I loved this book at lot more than the original We Were Liars. The characters are a lot more likable and relatable, and the novel explores the story in a complex way when dealing with complex issues like rape, homophobia, and addiction. The ghost thing is still really weird though.

There aren't enough good things I can say about this book.  Mostly character driven, but in such a way that there's also a plot.  The character development somehow all magnificently  becomes part of the plot towards the end.  It's also a mystery of sorts, but not a typical mystery.  The family development and relationships are stellar.  So flawed, but so realistic.  If you loved We Were Liars, but were unsure about the follow-up, don't be.  It's more of what I loved from the first one!
