So first of all i loved ,,we were liars“ and was so hyped for this prequel. All in all i can say i am bit disappointed. The idea of the plot was very good and i was totally hyped for the plot twist, but there wasnt a really plot twist?! I was hoping for more…but nevermind. The vibes and the writing style were just a chefs kiss 🤌 i really like the past of the sinclair family, but i was hoping for more deeper secrets and more shocking secrets. The mystery thing wasnt there and it was also kinda boring, so i am disappointed and hoping for more…i still cried tho because of rosmary and her bond with clair bc her leaving was the most hurtful part…

The plot is just as interesting as the first book, but it's in such a similar way that it's no longer as impactful. Like, the whole twist-at-the-end thing, I saw that coming before the book was even published. It would've been cool if the author actually did something different, but it's not bad nevertheless. Three stars, and an extra half star for the MC being less of a little b and *actually* having problems and remembering their servants' names this time ffs.

I read we were liars at the start of this year, it was the book that got me out of my reading slump that lasted years, so of course I had to read the prequel.

We were liars made me cry so much and for some reason I thought family of liars was basically going to be a copy and paste of we were liars. I was so wrong. This book made me so angry with it that I wanted to toss the book across my room. For the past week, all you could hear coming from my room was, "NO" "HOW DARE YOU!!?" And a lot of screaming. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to feel something, but someone who isn't much of a crier.

I'm not vey good with trigger warnings, but I would say that some of the main ones are rape and death.
