That was a fun book, nice to know some more info about characters.
I tried book 1 but didn't like it. Maybe I should re-try it.

I obtained this little novella free!

This is a super short novella by the author of 'Hold Me Closer, Necromancer.' I think I made the mistake of reading this novella prior to reading her full-length novel, but oh well.

This story revolves around Ashley (who is apparently introduced in 'Hold Me Closer') and her childhood friend Matt. Regardless of me not knowing more about the characters prior to reading it was still a fun little enjoyable read.

Short and sweet, this novella gives us more of a back story on Ash. I enjoyed reading more about her, and felt a little sad over this bittersweet story. I hope there is more to come in this series!

The idea that a Harbinger loves waffles just makes me so happy. I put book one on hold at the library, I can't wait to read it when it's ready!

I liked the short story before the novella better, hopefully Ash and Matt show up in future installments. Feels like a Christopher Moore novel.

Matt’s best friend, Ash, drags him out for Waffles and Chili Fries. He looks forward to these moments, because he misses her. She died four years ago from cancer. Now she is the Harbinger of Death. In the span of a few pages, you feel Matt’s ache and longing to be with Ash like the good old days. He even considers suicide to be with her. Thankfully she poo-poos that idea.

I already like the characters and the possibilities that are introduced. I do not know how this story fits into the overall series. I don’t usually read the chapter excerpt included in books, but I skimmed this one. I didn’t see hide nor hair of Matt and Ash. So I’m not sure if they are a standalone story hinting at Matt’s possible Necromancer abilities or they just aren’t in Chapter 1 of Hold Me Closer, Necromancer.

It's a cute short story about Ashley, the little pig-tailed smart Harbringer of Death from "Hold Me Closer, Necromancer". I liked her a lot in HMCN and it was nice to know a bit more of her backgrounds and where she goes when not on duty which happens to be hanging out with Matt, her very alive best friend since she was a normal ten years old girl.

Very short story that features Ashley (also found in Hold Me Closer, Necromancer). The first two chapters of the book are also included. Nice little bonus content from the author.
