A little bit of grade inflation, but Chuck's always surprisingly interesting.

Curious and frivolous. That describes this book as a whole and how Klosterman tends to write about his topics. I enjoyed the variety and the overall discourse here suggests. Very good afternoon read.

Read this over the course of last week at the beach. Good, not as great as his best Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs and Downtown Owl. The essays about time travel in pop culture and canned sitcom laughter are worth picking this up.

Usual Klosterman, which means rambling yet amusing.

Whereas Wells Tower's collection of short stories is the work of fiction I wish I had written, "Eating the Dinosaur" is its cultural criticism counterpart. Simultaneously ambitious and accessible, insightful and funny—if only all criticism could be like this! Only Klosterman could mine such profundity from topics such as Weezer, Ralph Sampson, watching professional football, and ABBA. The last essay on the Unabomber and the internet is required reading for anyone concerned with the collision of culture and technology.

Easily his best work since "Killing Yourself to Live." A fantastic return to the type of essay writing that made him one of the most popular pop culture writers.
