Millie and Fitz.
It’s so heartbreaking to read of her unrequited love, esp when he’s pining for his own lover.
The ending felt rushed.
I didn’t really feel their chemistry or connection so I found it hard to believe. The angst and tension could’ve been prolonged.

Thank goodness a pillar of the romance genre is the happily ever after, otherwise I couldn't have finished this book. Millie's unrequited love was just heartbreaking.

I’ve seen this book recommended so many times, but it’s not on KU or at the library. I finally bit the bullet and spent some credits to get it.
Was it with it? I don’t think so. The plot is kinda ridiculous— married people who get along that well don’t not have sex because of some silly pact they made when they were still teenagers.
The standout part of the book is Millie herself. She’s type of FMC who has a quiet strength (like Elinor in S&S). I shed some tears for her silent suffering.
The MMC is definitely dense.

Top-shelf pining here. Loved the slow burn here even if in real life I'd hate Fitzhugh and be like "Millie, honey..."
