I feel like a jerk and a philistine having been a drama major and not having enjoyed this. This may be one of those plays that is much better seen than read.

This was kind of a wild ride … it certainly was funny .. there were moments I was like .. “why does Ambleside Online want my 13 year old to read this
This is a lovely little play and stands up well to the test of time, provided you're able to comprehend older-style English. I would enjoy seeing it performed, I think with a good cast and direction it would be very funny.

Ridiculous reader confession: James Marsters is the only reason I listened to this audioboook. Hits me as a lesser Oscar Wilde, but absurd romcom satire isn't my genre of choice, so its connoisseurs are free to call me wildly off base.
