Characters were getting annoying and started to feel like a YA novel in the middle rather than adults making decisions.

Okay, that cliffhanger!!! I really hope book 2 comes soon because I need more.

* fantasy romance
* Bookworm FMC
* Dragons 🐉
* Breeding k:nk
* Other worlds
* Academy setting
* Single POV

The FMC is a librarian which was really cute. It’s meta which is fun and lots of romance reader: fantasy reader references. It’s fun and reminds me of campy fantasy reads.

Plot:
Morgan is a librarian with best friend Lexie. Then one night she finds out that the library is basically a magical party for Fae at night where they recharge their power. She gets caught in a fertility ritual with their god 🫡 for 30 days! Yes, you read that right lol. Then he whisks her off to his world because he wants to use her to uncover a traitor in his court.

Characters:
Morgan is a fun, modern girl. Her inner monologue helped build out her character. I most enjoyed the moments where she stands up for herself.

Why do we like Drager? 😂 he’s kind of a jerk. I feel like there is so much more we don’t know.  I’m clearly a lover of the morally grey interest because Drager’s brother, Zahak, is totally my type. A broody, lone wolf, who wears all black and will do anything for her? YES, PLEASE 🙏🏼 maybe this can be a why choose but if not, this is my vote for Zahak lol.

Writing:
It felt like the point of Morgan being there was to find the traitor but it got forgotten and lost in the plot until the end.

It’s like fantasy light. Author does a good job of endeavoring to build out the world and magic system. It was fun but not overwhelming ✨

The fun Academy setting with all the different creatures is cool! Give me all of the dragons! The politics seem very conqueror and conquered though.

It feels like a mix of fourth wing and Acotar.

I thoroughly enjoyed Morgan and her sass. Her friendship with Lexi is adorable even when they don't see eye to eye.

I could actually do without Dragar 😂 he's absolutely toxic and not in the "normal dark romance, broody" way but like in the "please seek therapy you prune" way.

I'm super interested in this huge world that Jaymin build and I was surprised to hear this was only supposed to be two books. I look forward to the next either way but there's definitely some great spin off potential here.

Over all great read
