thank you netgalley for providing me a free e-arc copy of breaking all the rules in exchange of an honest review.
if i were going to be honest, i really didn’t like this book.
nothing angers me more than a miscommunication trope. i mean i guess the trope itself is fine *when* executed well— but in this case, it wasn’t.
i didn’t entirely hate it. but there wasn’t really anything that i loved about it aside from the setting.

Breaking All the Rules is the first book I’ve read in a long time that was just pure fun and brought me joy.
Bea is such a ball of energy. I love how spontaneous she is as she has finally said enough and left the corporate marketing world!
Enter Officer Austin. Instead of irritated by Bea, he seems… amused.
There are so many adventures and laughable moments. This book brought joy to my heart and I just genuinely enjoyed the adventure and antics.
Thanks to the lovely people at @entangled_publishing for a copy of this book! The review expresses my own personal opinion.

In this small town romance we meet Beatrice Asher (Bea for short) just after she got passed by for another promotion and decided to say ‘bye bye’ to LA advertising. Now she moved to Credence (Colorado) doing only what she wants and that is binge-watching 15 seasons of Supernatural in sweats, wrong day-of-the-week panties, messy hair and bunny slippers.
When she leaves her apartment after 2weeks on the hunt for pie, the locals call the cops .. introducing officer Austin Cooper (10 years her junior).
Bea wants to go against the conventional and break all the rules, which lands her for a short time in jail for jay-walking. But officer Cooper was rather taken by Bea, and soon he’s helping her thick off things on her ‘breaking the rules’ list. From horse riding to line dancing and skinny dipping, Austin knows exactly what Bea needs to boost her confidence.
The book is written in a third person perspective with a double POV.
While I am not a big fan of the third person narrative, I really didn’t mind because the writing flows well and you still get quite some inside on the characters.
I loved Bea and her FU attitude leading her to discover what’s important for her. Especially when her mantra was WWDD, a.k.a ‘What Would Dean Do’, since you can never go wrong with some Dean Winchester in my book

I loved this book so much! So Bea moves to the small town of Credence to start over. And this time, she doesn't care about anything. She is going to break some rules and do what she wants to do. She meets Austin, a police officer, who decides to help her out. I loved both Bea and Austin. They were such a cute couple, had amazing chemistry, and the best banter. This was a really cute book that had me smiling throughout!

I was lucky enough to get a copy of the audiobook from Netgalley, and it was one of my 23 books for 2023! I just really loved the cover, and the synopsis made it sound amazing and could not wait to read this one! Overall, I think it delivered what I was hoping, and I really liked it. Still, I hated that it took Bea forever to fix her issues regarding dating a young guy, and I hated that it was all solved by one short phone call. But Austin is one of my favorite characters of all time, and he was just amazing. I wish we had more time with them at the end because I feel like it wrapped up pretty fast.
