A fast paced adventure featuring lots of emotions and a complex web of characters. Which isn't surprising for this author

This review isn't going to be complete nostalgia, because I have never read this book before. I read the first book in The Kane Chronicle and then never read another one. Until now. And let me say, it was just as much of a hoot as I've come to expect from Rick Riordan. I'm not even ashamed to admit that I am now planning on reading every single children's book he has published as a 21-year-old semi-adult. There's just something about the way he infuses humor into every single page of his book that is incredibly charming. Every character is complex and dynamic. The protagonists are so adorable; I would give anything for Sadie and Carter to be safe and happy. If you want a wholesome read, or you have a child who needs a book to read, I cannot recommend anything Rick Riordan has written more.

This was a great follow up to the first novel it brings up some new side characters and other mysteries within the House of Life as a whole as well as works as a great connector to the greater plot of what is going to happen next.
