3 stars.

This was a book worth reading. I enjoyed the way the author draws you into the world of the two sisters, and really brings Ayoola, in particular, to life.

Though I appreciated the succinctness of the story, at times I felt like that came at the expense of a depth that I kept hoping might reveal itself. Still, though, I’m glad I read it.

Very enticing title, but don't go into this thinking it's a thriller. Much more of a drama that centers around family dynamics. It's about the relationship between 2 sisters. If you grew up with a younger sister, I think this will hit a bit more for you. Also, I highly reccomend the audiobook. The narrator's voice is beautiful and she brought life to the Nigerian accent that my internal thoughts never could.

I didn’t think it was very funny, thrilling, or disturbing, but maybe I’m just not very smart.
