Thanks to the lovely karen I found this little gem. Leigh Bardugo can write! I love this type of story. At first I didn't think I was going to like Little Knife much because we had the perfect girl. Yeva-her beauty was enough to make men lose their senses, cause fights, yada yada.
Then her father the duke decided it was time for her to marry and figured was for himself to prosper.

Another story about winning the hand of a beautiful bride, with an overarching moral to the story. A little bit of an ominous folk tale, but not dark at all. Just be true.

I love this little story. A fairytale-like. With some good lessons in it. Exactly the type of story I want to read to make me feel like a part of this world.

I've now read all the novellas. I really was hoping for a bit more background rather than fairy tale type stories, though.

Lovely. I’ve always been a sucker for fairy tales and folk tales, and Leigh does an amazing job at writing these Ravkan folk tales. The drawings are really pretty too (reading these in The Language of Thorns book)
