I really loved listening to this as an audiobook because of the amazing narrator telling the story! The story itself is sweet at times, sometimes it felt a bit rushed and forced.
Our protagonist Miranda is, at least for me, such a great character with a lot of depth, a sense of individuality and shows an interesting development in the book.
Turner as the troubled man did work for the plot, at times he was sadly rude and mean. But that’s all been part of the story building up so the duality of the characters worked great for the story.
Very interesting side characters as well!
I’ll definitely be reading the next Bevelstokes as well :)

"puss" is a dumb term of endearment and the entire plot was Turner being a complete jerk to Miranda and her pathetically pining after him.
Terrible. The guy is a sexist, misogynistic, abusing @**hole. She is absolutely ridiculous. '10 Things I love about you' is the only book in this trilogy worth reading. The whole 'The Duke and I' series is SO much better. Don't kill off any brain cells or waste time reading this one.

I thought this was going to be my favorite Julia Quinn novel, I love Miranda, and I did love Turner at first... but his emotional constipation and selfishness was too much. It would have been more compelling if Miranda had made him Court her properly before they married and address his trauma/issues instead of giving in to the pressure to marry him so fast. She should have said I'll only marry you if... Like seriously he couldn't get over himself until she gave birth after weeks of silent treatment and then almost died? Eff you Turner, you do not deserve her and she forgave you too easily every single time. especially after the first kiss... that was definetly harassment and could be considered assault
Also the way he was so dismissive in that one scene when she inquired about a writing on women's suffrage... Eff you
