3⭐️ Falling in love at a young age with someone who does not return that love is heartbreaking. Especially 10 years later when you think that love has become real but not as real as you had hoped.

I finished this book in a day and a half! I really, really liked it a lot! I could relate to the main character and the surrounding ones as well.

Amei as personagens principais.

I completely forgot I’d read this before, if that tells you anything. I didn’t even realize it was a re-read until I started to log it here.

This one has one of my least favorite tropes: the heroine has a rational reason to be angry with the hero and he first tries to convince her he’s done nothing wrong and then seduces her and she just can’t help herself and then nobody is mad anymore.

Like, let a woman be mad when she has good cause!

And let her do what normal people do and get even more angry when he tries to sex the mad out!

And let even one man figure out his dick can’t fix all his relationship problems!

And let even one woman not be so “overcome with desire” that she lets that dude off the hook when he’s being a jerk!

And while I’m at it, could we not with the whole oops-I-f***ed-her-guess-I-have-to-marry-her-even-though-I-don’t-love-her-but-oops-my-marriage-of-convenience-helped-me-learn-I-love-her-here’s-the-epilogue-with-all-the-babies thing, please and thank you.

I usually Love JQ, but this one just didn't do it for me. The relationship between Miranda and Turner was so one sided, and Turner was so brazenly selfish that it was hard not to think him the villain in this story. I just kept reading and waiting for him to redeem himself, but he just kept mistreating and taking advantage of the love that Miranda gave him. And her unwillingness to really stand up for herself was another source of frustration.
The writing was, as always, lovely. Pithy banter and well written characters. Just the story here was not what I'd call a love story. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Not liking the main character (Turner) tends to ruin the romance in a romance book.

Of course, I read this series out of order, so I already knew the outcome. Though, it's a romance novel with two main leads. How do you know predict that ending? I was baffled by Turner's inability through most of this. I didn't feel like Quinn did a good enough job explaining his reluctance. It didn't make much sense to me. I have to tell you that the last part of this book totally made me cry. It wasn't pretty! I look forward to the last in this trilogy and then moving on to more of Quinn's books.

So much drama and so addicting!! Loved it!!
