***ARC Review***

I was lucky enough to receive an advanced copy of this book through Valentine PR and the authors.

“Once Upon a Sexy Scrooge” by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine is a delightful Christmas novella that is perfect for kicking off any Yuletide reading. Max and Micah are the MCs of this story. Both men start out at odds with one another. Max is a “city boy” who works for a company that wants to buy out Micah’s family Christmas tree farm. Micah and his family are beyond a hard sale.

This forced proximity, enemies to lovers tale is full of quick wit, sarcastic banter, Christmas cheer (albeit Max is the Scrooge figure), and a bit of steam as well. Micah’s town and family are awesome. There is more to Max than meets the eye. This book reminds me of those small town holiday romance movies. It’s endearing and sweet, but there’s definitely some sass as well. *wink*

Brooke and Ella are a fantastic writing duo and you will definitely enjoy their latest co-write. Enjoy their holiday novella while you cuddle up with a cozy blanket and some warm apple cider.

Micah and Max are adorable in this Hallmark channel-worthy story of the big city exec who hates Christmas and the lumberjack who owns a tree farm. Max’s company wants the land it’s on, but Micah only wants to show Max what family and Christmas really mean. A cute, short read perfect for the holidays!

A super fun and cute christmas novella with the perfect amount of spice to kickoff the holiday season! Maxwell, the city slicker who hates Christmas, and Micah, the small town Christmas Tree Farmer, are the perfect foils for each other and their banter was perfect for a light “enemies to lovers” Christmas set-up!

We also get light dashes of forced proximity, grumpy x sunshine, and a found family. So basically it’s the perfect cozy Christmas novella.

Imagine if the Hallmark channel had a slightly dirtier side...this is exactly where this book would fall. Once Upon a Sexy Scrooge has ALL the magic of the holiday season, but rubbed down with the dirty writing that I love reading from this writing duo.

Maxwell Scott has no love for Christmas. Zero, zilch, nada. He is the Grinch and Scrooge all rolled into one hot man. To nail that point home, right before Christmas he approaches Micah Noble and his family, who own a Christmas tree farm, about the deal to buy their land, but Maxwell doesn't quite understand why they won't sell. Did he miss the Christmas part of the whole thing? No, he really dislikes this holiday. Unluckily or perhaps luckily for him, he gets snowed in when he drives out for a visit and is then forced to enjoy Christmas with the Nobles. Maxwell might just discover what all that magic of the holiday is about, while meeting the perfect lumberjack of his dreams to boot.

Micah and Maxwell couldn't be more different from one another, but that only made this book adorably funny while Max grouches around and Micah gets a twinkle in his eye about it. I'll admit there were times that I wanted to smack the Scrooge right out of Max, but there were also times that I could sympathize with the Grinch that lived inside of him too. I think we all have those moments which made this book perfect for this time of year.

It's a short, sweet with the right amount of spice, holiday book that will warm you all over.

A cute steamy holiday novella with an uppity city boy trying to convince the grumpy tree farmer to sell his family's land.
Max and Micah were adorable as they huffed and puffed around each other until they gave into the intense chemistry between them.

Who doesn’t love a great holiday humbug tale? Micah and Maxwell’s story was sexy and steamy and I enjoyed their witty banter. Everyone deserves a Christmas miracle and you can’t help rooting for these two. Tis the season to snuggle up in front of the fire and dive into this must read!
