I needed an epilogue. The academic in me is dying to know what she got on her paper.

I’m just hate reading these at this point.

I keep reading these books because I loved The Deal, but these just keep getting worse. The writing was repetitive, the plot was repetitive, the language was cringy, the characters (especially summer) were not developed.

The misogyny is gross. While I think Kennedy thinks she’s trying to push feminism and deal with patriarchy and rape culture, every aspect of the book oozes internalized misogyny. Everything from character development to word choice to plot points is written from the male gaze, which is crazy considering this is a book written by a woman marketed to other women. It also relies so much on gendered language for no reason. The attempts at diversity are also gross and play into stereotypes.

The ending was trash. Absolute and complete trash. And the entire book was boring.

CW: sexual harassment, sexual assault

This is such a heartwarming read, you should read this book as a feel good book. Like reading this is comparable as sitting down one afternoon to watch all the chick flicks you possibly can in one sitting to just forget the world for a while.
Summer is such a real character and you can see her grow and struggle. She is so lovable and honest about herself.
I'm contrast you can see fitsy, who is so much more reserved and they just click. This is a story of a girl chasing a guy and I don't think anyone can read this without smiling like an idiot the entire time.

I loved this book. I absolutely adore the Off-Campus Series and I just know I'll love Briar U. In the Chase we get to see the next generation of the Briar Hockey team and I really liked how it started off with a relationship that had been hinted at in the original series. Overall I love Elle Kennedy's writing and this book just as much as I loved Off-Campus.
