the first part was maybe the first unputdownable section of pages i've ever read. absolutely gripping. the later parts were less so, but still good.

Great book with an interesting plot. Also great writing and a very relevant message. I really liked it. The plot moved relatively fast and something new is always happening.

I do dislike that not much is told about why this happened - my issue. I absolutely loathe Bernard.

I found the first half of the book a bit of a slog as the author had to deal with the necessary world building that dystopian fiction requires. That along with some completely illogical parts to the world itself which I won't go into for spoiler reasons had me second-guessing my decision to buy the boxed set; however, somewhere along the way, I became hooked. Looking forward to book 2.
